Learning paths that last.
Courses for engineering and management, from providers with practical experience. One course day with your instructor, then several weeks in the app, until what you learned holds in daily work.
Two courses for engineering and management.
The NIS-2 seminar for management is held in German only. View it on the German site.
One-day course of the SEM Academy, at your plant or online
Simulation that supports decisions.
For technical management, purchasing, and executive management. The course teaches you to pick out the simulation results that matter for your area and to assess them well enough that your statements hold up.
One day on a real customer order, from the requirements to the simulation to the report.

Instructor: Ingo Konrad Dentz. Up to 8 participants, price on request. Then four weeks of learning path in the app, with a Certificate of Completion.

Leading escalations.
The SEM Academy teaches SEM (Strategic Engineering Matrix): resolve technical escalations in a structured way and represent them to the customer.
The book “SEM: Thinking Under Pressure” belongs to the course. It demonstrates the method on cases from plastics engineering, from the first symptom to the decision, and fits it into existing tools such as 8D and Ishikawa diagrams.
- Foundation, one course day: the shared language in the team.
- Practitioner, two course days: lead analyses and stage interventions.
- Certified Escalation Engineer: lead escalations toward the customer and the board.

Instructor: Ingo Konrad Dentz. Up to 8 participants per cohort, price on request.
The course day is the beginning.
People retain what they repeat. That is why the course continues in the app, a few minutes every day, until it sticks.
Try a question from the course.
A rear lamp warps, and the production launch is five weeks away. The parts only come within tolerance if they cool in a fixture. In the meeting room, one explanation is stress from laser welding of the seam. The toolmaker says the parts already warp during demolding, and therefore before the welding process.
What does the toolmaker’s observation mean for this explanation?
Choose an answer.
- AIt confirms the explanation, because the fixture also helps with cooling in that case.
- BIt argues against it: what warps before the welding process cannot come from the welding.
- CIt does not matter as long as the parts come within tolerance in the fixture.
Show the solution
The correct answer is B: It argues against it: what warps before the welding process cannot come from the welding.
That the fixture helps fits every mechanism that is still acting in the part after demolding. The toolmaker’s observation does separate the explanations: warpage before the welding process needs a mechanism that acts before the welding. The team looks for such separating observations before the next trial. Otherwise, it changes three parameters at once and cannot tell which one worked.
This was a practice question from the SEM Academy. Challenges in the app follow this pattern: a situation, a question, and the explanation of the answer.
Your learning path after the course day
The app schedules each topic three times: read, deepen, refresh. A few minutes a day, on weekdays, matched to the deadline of the course.
Read: one topic from the course, then three questions.
Deepen: two Challenges on the same topic.
Read: the next topic.
Refresh: one Challenge. If fewer than two of three answers are right, the app suggests the article again.
The tool at the machine
SEM Scout is the companion tool to SEM. It records a defect pattern directly at the machine and shows the leading mechanism with its confidence value.
Free, in the browser, without an account.
View SEM Scout (opens in a new tab)You see what holds.
For each topic the app shows what holds after two good days and what is still open. The instructor sees the same in the Course Register when the participant sends their status.
The learning status stays on the device; there is no account. Only the instructor sees results, and only those the participant sends.
Also as an online course.
Today for the courses of the SEM Academy, for other courses on request.
The course day by video, with all materials.
Your team sees the slides, assignments, and answer reveals. The instructor additionally sees the correct answer, the time left in the block, and their notes. Challenges go to the group by link, and afterward the same learning path runs as after a day at your plant.

SEM (Strategic Engineering Matrix) is a method for process analysis in matrix-based systems, for escalations in development, launch, and series production, developed from more than 200 successfully completed customer projects. In a loop of mechanisms that you weight on the basis of findings, you work out the best possible solution in every project phase. SEM fits into existing methods such as 8D or Ishikawa diagrams.

About the authorDo you offer courses yourself that deserve more than a set of slides?
With Lernheim your course becomes a module in our app, under your name and with your logo. You teach the course yourself, and your content stays yours and is encrypted. Included: a presentation mode for the course day, a Course Register for your instructors, and an individual learning path for your participants.

Instructors
You run your course in the Course Register: invite participants, follow learning status, print certificates, teach the course. The Course Register is a file on your own drive.
