Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Bluehost, a service of Newfold Digital, Inc., USA. When you open a page or file, your browser transmits data to the server for technical reasons, and the server stores them in log files: IP address, date and time, requested file, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system, and the page visited before (referrer).
These data serve operation, security, and troubleshooting. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). The host is based in the USA. The transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission or on the provider’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. According to the host’s rules, log files are deleted after a short time.
No cookies, no statistics, no third-party content
This website sets no cookies and includes no visitor statistics. Fonts and images come from our own server; no content from third parties is loaded, such as maps, videos, or social network buttons.
The sample question on the course pages is evaluated in your browser only. Your answer is neither transmitted nor stored.
The selection of courses by audience, format, duration, credential, and language is also evaluated by your browser alone. It appears only in the address of the page (for example “?zielgruppe=qualitaet”) so that a link to it can be passed on, and it is neither stored nor transmitted when you select. If you open such an address, it appears in the server’s log file like every address you open.
You open links to other sites yourself, for example to the app at app.lernheim.com or the SEM Academy at sem.ikarsolutions.com. Only then does the privacy policy of the respective site apply.
Contact form and email
With the inquiry form on the home page, under “Contact,” and on the course pages you send us an inquiry. The data you enter are processed: your inquiry, where applicable course, level, date, number of participants, period, and location, plus name, company, email address, phone number if given, and your message. Only the inquiry, name, email address, and your consent are required; for inquiries other than a course inquiry, the message is required as well.
The purpose is to handle your inquiry and to prepare a collaboration. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request); for other inquiries it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries).
The server of lernheim.com turns your data into an email and sends it to IKAR Solutions OÜ: inquiries about the SEM Academy go to sem@ikarsolutions.com, all others to info@ikarsolutions.com. If another provider offers a course, an inquiry about that course goes to the inquiry address given on its page. The web server does not store the inquiry. To guard against mass-submitted inquiries, the server creates an empty marker file for each connection. The file’s name is a hash calculated from the IP address. The file blocks a second submission for one minute and is deleted after one hour at the latest. The IP address also appears in the server’s log file, as with every request (see above).
The email with your inquiry then sits in the recipient’s mailbox. We delete it as soon as the inquiry is handled and no statutory retention duties apply; if the inquiry leads to a contract, the retention periods for business letters apply.
You can also write to us directly. The link with the email address below the form opens a message in your own mail program; the website transmits nothing in the process. The same applies to your email as to the form.
The Lernheim platform
The app and the Course Register of all modules run at app.lernheim.com and have their own privacy policy there. The same principle applies to all modules: there are no accounts. Learning status stays in the participant’s browser, course data in the instructor’s file. Participants send reports to the instructor themselves.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21). Contact info@ikarsolutions.com for this.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for IKAR Solutions OÜ is the Estonian data protection authority: Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn, Estonia, aki.ee, info@aki.ee. You can also contact the supervisory authority of your place of residence.
